Mold Remediation
If heating, ventilation, and air conditioning mechanical systems are insufficiently maintained, their metallic surfaces can provide the organic matter mold needs to grow.
However, mold in the duct work can be treated. If the technician identifies mold in the duct work system during the air duct cleaning process, he/she will show the client and recommend the use of sanitizer, a chemical solution approved by the EPA for mold remediation within the duct work.
The mold will be agitated and removed manually. The technician will then use a fogger, an electric device that coats the duct work with the sanitizer to remediate the remaining mold.
Sanitizing ones duct system stems microbial growth such as mold and bacteria and is is often used when people have allergies or are moving into a previously occupied home.
Filters
Dapper Ducts, Inc. offers clients the opportunity to purchase both Electra-Gold and Electra-Silver Anti-Microbial Electrostatic Air Filters. Manufactured by Air-Care, indoor air quality specialists operating in Nevada, these filters come with a lifetime guarantee.
Air-Care Electrostatic Air Filters clean the air by using static electricity, a safe naturally occurring phenomenon. An electrostatic charge is generated by air flowing through a maze of static prone fibers. Airborne particles are attracted and held by the static charge until released by washing on a monthly basis.
Air-Care Electrostatic Air Filters provide a variety of benefits including cleaner air to breathe, removal of pollen, dust and airborne pollutants, and no harmful ozone emissions.
Ultra Violet Purifiers
Dapper Ducts, Inc. offers clients in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland the opportunity to purchase a UVC Silent Light Air Purifying System manufactured by Air-Care, indoor air quality specialists operating in Nevada.
According to the EPA, indoor air is much more polluted than outdoor air. If too little outdoor air enters a dwelling or office, microorganisms can collect and affect one's health. This can especially be a problem in homes or at commercial properties built within the last twenty years, which do not allow enough air changes, keeping contaminated air in and fresh air out.
Although air filters are designed to trap dust and bacteria, microorganisms by definition are often too small to be trapped by most filters, and flow through the system undeterred.
Air-Care's Ultra Violet Purification Light is installed in the main supply or return duct line of any heating or cooling system, and emits a powerful ultraviolet (UV) light, which generates safe and highly effective negative hydroxyl ions, the natural compound that scrubs pollution from the earth's atmosphere.
As a result, the UV light kills bacteria, viruses and mold, and sterilizes and reduces airborne microorganisms as they pass through the system, thereby reducing symptoms of allergies asthma and other respiratory problems. See below for an illustration of how the UV Light kills bacteria and microorganisms in the ductwork. The UV Light operates continuously, 24 hours a day, to sanitize the air in your home.
Ultraviolet light purification has been proven effective in hospitals, schools, daycare centers, restaurants and hotels. The UVC Light is mounted inside the home's heating and cooling ductwork. The unit mounts with a twist and lock for ease of changing the bulb. Air-Care's UVC Light will plug into any standard 120V outlet.
